what is the gospel?

Our Sin

Everyone has sinned, whether it is lying, stealing, envying or hating. All these things have separated us from the presence of God.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

The Payment

Jesus, God's precious son, came to Earth to heal our relationship with God by dying on the cross. He washed away and forgave our sins through this act of love and sacrifice.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24

Resurrection

Jesus rose from the dead to show that death, the consequence of sin, has no control over Him. Jesus created a path of life for us to take when he rose from the dead.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?'" John 11:25-26

The Gift of Life

Jesus invites you to accept His gift of payment for your sins. When you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, God declares you righteous and accepts you into His Kingdom.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Growth

Out of overflowing joy and love for God, you grow your faith by reading the Bible, praying, spending time with fellow believers, and sharing the gospel.

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
